Mother's Day Weekend

This weekend was beautiful and I'm glad to say that I was able to take advantage of it. Saturday I went down to Anacortes with my parents and Willie (my dog) to mt. bike at Cranberry Lake Community Forest. It was wonderfully sunny although not too warm and the lake was absolutely gorgeous. It was lovely to be in the quiet woods and spending time with two of my favorite people. I always seem to forget how much I like mt. biking except for the moments like when I thought I was seriously going head first into a rather large cedar tree at what felt like mach ten. It was a long ride that left me falling asleep on the car ride home.

After some serious sleeping I woke up to make a delious mother's day breakfast of bacon, waffles and strawberries. Then it was off to the garden to do some manual labor, a traditional mother's day activity in our family. The duckies played outside munching on dandalions and playing in the pool. I can't believe that they have pretty much doubled in size in one week and are actually getting feathers. Oh by the way they have names now too, Fuchia, Buttercup, Violet, Orchid, and Periwinkle (yes, I was channeling spring and all the flowers). In the garden it was Battle Royale, Emily vs. The Dandalions. It waged on for quite some time and I sustained a few back injuries but in the end I was victorious!

Now after some very yummy brownies I'm feeling quite sleepy and ready for some nation geographic channel. Adios amigos!
